A little about me…

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog, Tasty Ever After!  I hope you enjoy spending some time here and find recipes that interest you.  I’m Karrie and I live in Southern New Hampshire with my husband J, our dogs Gracie and Nola, and a few backyard chickens (fresh eggs in the morning are the best!).  I was born and raised in Florida and I greatly dislike winter/cold/snow, so New Hampshire was a logical choice when we wanted to move from down South.  LOL!  Seriously, I love living in New Hampshire (the other 3 seasons) and have learned so much about New England cuisine (hello lobster rolls).  Another huge plus of living up here is the abundance and accessibility of sustainable, organic local farms.  It has really taught me how important it is to know what’s behind the who, how, and where of the food we eat.

I’ve always had a passion for all things culinary and for the exploration of food.  Growing up in South Florida, my Family encouraged me to try many different types of food and fostered my adventurous eating, so my interests in foods are widely varied.  I literally like everything and anything, and will try everything and anything!  I’ve eaten some of the best meals of my life at Michelin-starred restaurants and also at hole-in-the-wall dives.  I also have absolutely no self-control when it comes French bakeries (okay, really any bakery) and I’m known for buying enough pastries at one time to feed a family of 25.  I’m an avid collector of cookbooks and love researching and learning as much as I can about a different cuisine, then replicating it at home.

J has been telling me for 9+ years to start a food blog, so I could have my own place to document my love for all things food.  That’s why I started this blog…to be my creative, happy place.  I know every recipe won’t be perfect or the most unique dish on the planet, but I’m hoping to learn as I go and, hopefully, even grow through this experience.  I always try to use fresh, local ingredients and spend the time to make everything from scratch.  I take pride in the fact that every recipe on this site has been worked, tweaked, tasted, pondered over, tasted again, loved, sometimes hated, tested and loved again.  I thank you for taking the time to check them out.  If you’d like to say “hi” or have a comment about a recipe (or anything else), please contact me via email or connect with me on any of these social media sites:

Happy cooking!

You might see a few photos of my doggies on here so let me introduce them…here’s Gracie and our new puppy, Nola.  We foster puppies and dogs from our local animal shelter and Nola came to us at the young age of 2 months, this past October 2014.  We were supposed to foster her for 4-6 weeks and then let her be adopted out, but from the first moment I saw her, I knew we would be foster failures, and that’s exactly what we are :)  We love these two munchkins so much!

This is me and my first New England snowstorm (3 feet!!).  I didn’t know it could snow 3 feet in one day.  Yeah, I’m surprised that I didn’t hightail right back to Florida too!
